Frequently asked questions

Answers to frequently asked questions about our Careline Buddy Button.

Here are some of our frequently asked questions from our customers.

If you can’t find the answer to your question, please feel free to contact us.

One of our friendly team will be on hand to have any questions you have about our products and services.

Place the device on the docking station on a slight angle until you hear it click and a faint red light comes on to the docking station.

Connect the Micro USB side of the cable to the docking station port and connect the other end of the cable to the designated AC power source.

When charging, the red LED (on the docking station) will be on.

Press and hold the SOS button for 3 seconds until the device vibrates and bleeps. It will say ‘your call will be answered shortly’ and connect you to one of our call operators (providing there is network coverage).

The BuddyButton has a falls detection function but this only recognises sudden impact falls, not staggered or slumped falls. If a sudden impact fall occurs and the BuddyButton hits the floor it must remain in a lying position for at least 10 seconds. After this the device will bleep several times and dial through to our call centre.

When you press your button, our operators will talk to you through the device and take appropriate action, whether it be contacting a friend or family member to alert them of the problem or contacting the emergency services. The BuddyButton will pinpoint your location so we will know where you are and can pass this information on.

Once you press the button you will be linked to Careline Community Service where our friendly and professional operators will talk to you and take appropriate action, whether it be contacting a friend or family member to alert them of the problem or contacting the emergency services
