Frequently asked questions

Answers to frequently asked questions about our Careline Alarm Watch.

Here are some of our frequently asked questions from our customers.

If you can’t find the answer to your question, please feel free to contact us.

One of our friendly team will be on hand to have any questions you have about our products and services.

  1. Connect the plug pack and supplied cable or cradle to an electrical socket.
  2. Place end of the cable on the terminals on the back of the watch, or place the watch in its cradle if you have one.
  3. Typical battery life is 2-3 days, but can be less in poor signal areas. We recommend charging daily for 1 hour. Choose a time when you are not at risk of a fall e.g. while watching TV.
  4. When the device is charged, all the green bars in the battery indicator on the watch will appear.
  5. To use your device at any time, simply remove it from the charging cable or cradle.
  1. To send an alert for help, any time of the day or night, press and hold the grey button on the face of the watch. This will start the short pre-alarm sequence.
  2. A red SOS symbol will appear on the face of the watch to let you know an alert is being sent to the Monitoring Centre, and there will be a vibration and a ringing sound.
  3. Once the alarm has been received, the monitoring centre will answer. This can take some time, especially at busy times or in poor signal areas.

The Careline Alarm Watch has a falls detection function. This generally only recognises hard falls from height followed by a period of inactivity,  not soft or broken falls. If you fall, you should always press the grey button on the watch if you can.

We can adjust the sensitivity of this function, or turn it off. Call us on 01553 616200 to request this.

When you press the grey button on your Careline Alarm Watch, our operators will talk to you through the device and take appropriate action, whether it be contacting a friend or family member to alert them of the problem or contacting the emergency services. The GO will pinpoint your location so we will know where you are and can pass this information on.

When you press the grey button on your Careline Alarm Watch it will call through to our Monitoring Centre where our friendly and professional operators will talk to you and take appropriate action, whether it be contacting a friend or family member to alert them of the problem or contacting the emergency services. At home, the included beacon will tell our operators where you are more quickly.
